The Meaning of Names: Elvis Aaron Presley, Priscilla Ann Wagner Beaulieu, Lisa Marie, Vernon, and Gladys
Sometimes people believe that there is a hidden meaning that parents subconsciously tap into, when they name their child at birth or at a very young age. Could a name be linked to some aspect of a person's destiny? Whether you do believe that or not, it is still interesting to know what a person's name means.
Online information:
Elvis:
He was named after his father (his father's middle name was Elvis).
Male name; Christian; Old English or Old Norse origin.
Likely related to the names Alvis, Alvin, or Elvin; Eli or Eliphaz.
Meanings: Elf friend, all-wise or knowing.
His mother claimed some maternal Jewish ancestry.
From Elvis' name using Hebrew, I gleaned "El" (one of the main names of God). If the Latin meaning of "vis" is added, it could be like God is visible, or God sees (all knowing theme again). If we add a vowel to to "lvi", or move the position of the E in his name, it's "Levi" (which means partnered, joined together). One could even say that his name is like the famous Levi's jeans!
Aron/ Aaron: Interestingly (considering the meaning of the surname or name Presley), the name Aaron does have a priestly theme to it, being the name of a very famous priest from the Bible. Supposedly Elvis said once that if he hadn't been a musical entertainer, he might've been a preacher. In the Bible, some of the Levitical priests were temple musicians.
Hebrew -- male name. Means "strong," "exalted" or "mountain of strength." Also is thought to mean teacher or messenger.
Presley:
Originally a male name, but modernly is now considered somewhat of a unisex name.
English -- Priestly, or from the Priest's meadow or clearing in the woods, i.e. a dweller near the Priest's meadow.
Other opinions say that Presley originally was Pressler or Bressler: from ancestry.com--
German and Jewish (Ashkenazi): habitational name for someone from the city of Breslau (compare Bressler ) or from Pressel (compare Pressel ). Compare also Presler Jewish (Ashkenazic): variant of Presler

Elvis was a dynamic man who felt music deeply and expressed it with extra emotion. "Gospel" songs were some of his favorites. Had he ever gone into the ministry, likely he would've chosen to heal or preach through song, just like the temple musical priests did in the Bible. Elvis was also an avid reader in some of his personal time. He sought truth from many books that he read (he had many Bibles too). His names all point to these aspects of his life history. It is unfortunate that the negative sides of his career filtered too much into his family life and health.

Priscilla:
Female name, of Latin origin.
Ancient, venerable (such as a time-honored tradition).
Diminuitive form: Prissy -- prim/proper (which could be positively or negatively viewed), well-behaved, princess-like.
The Priscilla name is found in the New Testament. Acts 18:2, Romans 16:3, 1 Corinthians 16:19.
Ann: a form of Hannah. Ann is the English form of the Hebrew Hannah, which means favor, grace or grace of God.
Wagner (her surname at birth): Wagon maker or wagon driver. Of Germanic origin (and other countries with Germanic derived languages). May also be an Ashkenazi-Jewish surname.
Beaulieu (her adoptive surname), is French in Origin and means Lovely place.
These names are all indicative of Priscilla's classy, polite, gentle, demeanor of refinement and achievement.
Lisa Marie: Lisamarie means {from Lisa} “God is abundance”, “God is my oath” and “God has sworn;" and {from Marie} “sea of bitterness”, “drop of the sea”, “star of the sea”, “rebelliousness”, “exalted one” or “wished for child.”
Lisa is related to the Hebrew name Elizabeth or Elisheva. Lisa is a shortened version. Marie is one of the spinoff names from the Hebrew female name Miriam. Miriam's name was given due to the bitter time of the Hebrew people in slavery. Miriam was the sister of Aaron and Moses. That family was from the tribe of Levi. Miriam was known for her victory song and dance after their escape through the Red sea (the enslavement and escape was a time of many perils and bitterness, bitter tears, turbulent waters, before the victory came).
Lisa Marie has had many turbulent waters in her life. Gratefully, she also has blessings through her mother and children which we hope will lead her to calm waters and a peaceful connection with her Creator.

Vernon: Male name of English or French-Norman origin.
Meaning -- Habitational name (living near) an Alder tree. Also means green, springlike, flourishing, or full of life.
Fact: Vernon Presley was born in the early Spring (April 10)
Gladys: Female name of Welsh origin. Means, princess or royalty.
May also be of Latin origin, gladiolus, "spear." (Gladiolus is related to gladiator, or the gladiolus flowering plant).
Gladys was also born in the Spring (April 25), the time of many flowers. Elvis was very close to her, and her early demise was a great loss to her family. The loss of her stillborn son Jesse was one of the "spears" in her life.
